Biography
2004'te Gyllenhaal, bilim kurgu felaket filmi The Day After Tomorrow'da rol aldı. 2005 yılında, Gyllenhaal'ın BAFTA Ödülü kazandığı ve Akademi Ödülü'ne aday gösterildiği Ang Lee'nin romantik draması Brokeback Mountain'da Jack Twist'i canlandırdı.
