Biography
Sinema kariyerine "Hercules in New York" (1970) filmindeki Herkül rolüyle adım atsa da, ağır Avusturya aksanı nedeniyle başlangıçta zorlandı. İlk ciddi dikkat çekişi, ona Altın Küre'de En İyi Çıkış Yapan Erkek Oyuncu ödülünü kazandıran "Stay Hungry" (1976) ve vücut geliştirme dünyasını tanıtan "Pumping Iron" (1977) belgeseli ile oldu. Ancak onu dünya çapında bir aksiyon yıldızı yapan yapım, epik fantezi filmi "Conan the Barbarian" (1982) oldu.
